Jayde I. Powell Shares Monetization Strategies at MissEmpowHER and Cuyana Event

New York City, NY Miss EmpowHer, a community for growth-oriented women founded by Caitlyn Kumi, partnered with global lifestyle brand Cuyana for an intimate evening focused on one of today’s most sought-after professional skills of transforming personal influence into sustainable income. Miss EmpowHer and Cuyana brought together a group of emerging women professionals, founders, and creatives to discuss how to transform personal visibility into long-term business growth.

Gathered in Cuyana’s beautiful SoHo storefront, the program opened with a panel moderated by Milan Crawford, content creation lead at Unilever. The panel discussion featured social strategist and creatorpreneur Jayde I. Powell and fellow panelist Brooke Yoakam, CEO and co-founder of AvidAI, discussing not only the mechanics of monetization but also the mindset shifts and systems that make personal branding sustainable. The panel titled “The Business of You: Using Your Influence to Accelerate Your Business Growth” explored how creators can build authentic viability and create long-term business ecosystems that extend beyond social platforms.

Throughout the conversation, Jayde and Brooke exchanged views on topics including income diversification, pricing, the value of expertise, and the importance of building not just an audience but an ecosystem that outlasts algorithms and fosters true equity. Jayde noted that personal branding is not a vanity metric but an asset, and shared the revenue streams powering her creator business today, including brand partnerships, speaking engagements, consulting, and digital products. Jayde also shared that surprising sources of income for her have often come from behind-the-scenes work, where she supports brands with storytelling and content strategy.

Jayde and Brooke also spotlighted that audience size is no longer the marker of success for creators and influencers, and reinforced that a personal brand(s) is a long-term business strategy, and not a short-term visibility play.

Personal branding isn’t just about being visible. It’s about being intentional. Your personal brand is your cheat code, and with strategic monetizing, you can see real benefits and growth of what you are building next in your career.
