Jayde I. Powell Taps Top Agency Executives at HubSpot’s INBOUND for Conversations On Social Media

San Francisco, CA — After a year packed with numerous conferences, social media strategist and creator Jayde I. Powell capped off her September with one of her most memorable experiences yet: HubSpot’s INBOUND set in San Francisco.

Jayde was selected not only as a creator ambassador but also as a speaker, and she, along with other social media pros took the stage to spotlight a side of the industry that doesn’t always get its flowers: agencies.

The panel, titled Behind the Screens - How Agencies Scale Social, shined a light on what it takes to create culture-driving social campaigns for brands. On the panel sat Dakota Rae Lowe, Vice President of Social Strategy at Edelman; Danisha Lomax, Chief Connected Community Officer at Digitas; and Gabriela Gironas, Senior Director of Creator Strategy at Wasserman—all three exceptional leaders from top agencies who brought their firsthand experiences to the conversation during the panel. The experts discussed topics including viral wins for their clients, such as Dove, Crocs, and Taco Bell, respectively, as well as the pivots and fast moves required to keep pace with the ever-changing social landscape and client expectations.

Beyond creative and strategy, the panel also explored how agencies are equipping their teams to support always-on, fast-moving social media work for brands, from staffing to implementing systems and structures to help move the work forward. For social media professionals and brand marketers alike, it was an unfiltered look at the teamwork and innovation that power the posts we double-tap every day.

Bringing iconic social moments to life isn’t easy, and it goes without saying that Jayde is an agency owner herself. As the Founder and Head of Creative at The Em Dash Co., she supports both agencies and brands in executing strategic and creative social media campaigns.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with over fifteen agencies and have seen firsthand the energy and time that goes into helping brands win on social. It’s rewarding, but can also be challenging. I wouldn’t say it’s thankless work, but it is one of those situations where you don’t know what it’s like until you’re in it. I wanted to take this opportunity to shed some light on the work in hopes that we can create a conversation around what it really looks like.”

The relationship between agencies and brands works best when it’s seen as a true partnership. Agencies shape stories, navigate culture, and amplify a brand’s vision in ways that truly resonate with online audiences, and when brands trust their agency partners to make that connection with their consumers, there can be real magic between the two—the kind that can leave a lasting impact.
