Jayde I. Powell Recognized as ADCOLOR Creator of the Year Nominee
Orlando, FL — Social strategist and creatorpreneur Jayde I. Powell was recently nominated for ADCOLOR Creator of the Year, an honor that recognizes digital leaders who build community and drive real-world change through their platforms. The nomination itself reflects the depth of her influence and the growing industry recognition of her work to make the future of the creator economy more sustainable and inclusive.
By promoting community and accessibility on their personal platforms, nominees are recognized as creators who use transformative means of digital influence to drive real-life change. Jayde’s nomination was grounded in the work she has led through her platform Creator Tea Talk, the educational and community-driven platform she founded to support queer, Black, and brown creators.
What started as candid conversations on LinkedIn has evolved into a dynamic ecosystem, including live in-person events, digital learning, and a community model intentionally designed to uplift underrepresented creators. Creator Tea Talk continues to be one of the few creator educational spaces that centers marginalized voices and prioritize accessible, community-first knowledge sharing.
In a nomination letter written by one of her longtime brand partners, Jayde has been described as someone who “stands in a category all her own,” blending strategic insight with authentic advocacy to drive meaningful change across social platforms. The letter also noted that Jayde’s ability to popularize language and spark discourse, famously referring to LinkedIn as “the briefcase app” long before it became mainstream, reflects her unique role as both creator and cultural trendsetter.
Jayde’s nomination emphasized her “reach back,” alluding to the mentorship and resources she extends to emerging creators working behind the scenes. By encouraging and guiding influencers and creators alike to find opportunity and claim space in an industry that often overlooks marginalized talent, Jayde is intentional in helping grow the next generation of creators.
“Being nominated alongside creators with millions of followers on Instagram and TikTok, while I'm building on LinkedIn with a smaller community? That's proof that impact isn't measured in follower count," Jayde reflected on the recognition.
"Creator Tea Talk exists because I got tired of seeing the same recycled advice that only works if you already have privilege, connections, or capital. Black and brown creators needed a space to learn how to negotiate without being lowballed, pitch without code-switching, and build sustainable businesses instead of chasing viral moments. This nomination shows that when you focus on depth over reach—when you pour into a community that actually needs what you're building—the industry recognizes that real influence isn't about going viral. It's about creating lasting change.”
This year's nomination marks a milestone in Jayde’s ongoing mission to cultivate a more ethical and accessible creator economy where creatives are not only seen, but, more importantly, supported and sustained in their careers.
