Meta Hosts Jayde I. Powell for a Conversation on Creativity and The Creator Economy at ADCOLOR
Orlando, FL — ADCOLOR Creator of the Year nominee Jayde I. Powell continued her presence as a voice for creators with an intimate fireside chat at Meta’s Creator Connections Brunch, hosted inside the Meta Community Lounge at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The brunch was designed as a creator-led networking experience that brought together creators, brand partners, and industry leaders for conversations rooted in collaboration and creative entrepreneurship.
As part of Meta’s commitment to empowering creators, the Creator Connections Brunch centered ADCOLOR’s theme CTRL + ALT + LFT: embodying the power of community to uplift, reboot, and engage in new ways.
The fireside chat moderated by Foluke Tuakli, creative strategy director at Meta, invited Jayde to share her perspective on navigating an industry that’s expanding faster than ever, especially as creators take on roles as entrepreneurs, strategists, and cultural voices. The conversation touched on key areas within the creator economy, including:
What makes a successful brief, and how creators discern alignment with brand values
The balance between trends and personal point of view
The role of paid amplification, including how partnership ads benefit creators and brands
Opportunities ahead for brands and creators to collaborate
"Brands keep asking how to reach younger, more diverse audiences, but they're still pouring budgets into traditional advertising that those audiences actively avoid," Jayde explained during the fireside chat.
"When you work with creators, you're not just buying ad space—you're borrowing trust that took years to build. My audience doesn't follow me for product recommendations; they follow me for career advice, creative inspiration, and real talk about navigating this industry. So when I do partner with a brand that aligns with our values, they're reaching people in a moment of genuine engagement, not interruption. That's why creator partnerships outperform traditional ads. We're not talking at audiences; we're having conversations with communities who actually want to be there."
Following her fireside chat, Jayde joined Meta’s round table “speed dating” session, where creators rotated through tables for twelve-minute conversations with event attendees. The discussions offered a rare opportunity for creators to connect and reinforce the brunch’s goal: to foster strategic, human-centered conversations.
The Creator Connectors Brunch reinforced that creators are becoming entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of marketing. Along with Jayde’s fireside conversation, noting how creators are shaping consumer behavior, a core truth to take away from this conference is that community, collaboration, and storytelling remain at the center of the work in the creator economy.
